※ 【Board game event】 Harmony held a special board game event for Stars students. Some of our students have been at our school for 8 up to 10 years, since they were in our kindergarten. This was a way to celebrate their time here in a relaxed and unique way. They started by playing Scrabble, putting there English skills to the test by trying to make words using the letters their team drew. This was followed by playing board games in two groups. One group split into two teams and played Santorini, based on a real Greek island, where they had to use strategy to reach the top of their building. The other group played a cooperative game called Race to the Raft. They had great fun working together to make paths to reach a raft, so that they could rescue their coloured cats from approaching forest fire! An exciting challenge! They helped each other and their cats were safe! After enjoying the board games, they were presented with message cards and certificates and a tasty lunch!

※ 【Spring School 2025】 The students at our spring seasonal school enjoyed learning about the wildlife in our area. They had fun while learning to identify local birds and sea creatures. We are thankful for the weather because they could also help to clean our local beach too!

※ 【Harmonia 2025】 Harmonia is the presentation of the children and the entrance and graduation ceremony.🎊 Our wonderful kindergarteners put on an awesome show for their families at Harmonia this year! Their combination of smiles, effort and enthusiasm while performing was a great way to say thank you to the graduates this year, as well as showing everyone what they can achieve together. ※ All the children are practising so joyfully for their play, song and dance presentation at the graduation ceremony in March! They are very energetic, lively and motivated! This year's play is based on Swimmy, an original story woven by the children of Harmony 🎵. We can't wait to see how the story unfolds!

※ The second TOEFL exam of this year was held at Harmony. Harmony has introduced the TOEFL, which is taken entirely in English, rather than the Eiken test, where questions are asked in Japanese. While the Eiken can be used mainly in Japan, the TOEFL iBT® is the main test for universities in the U.S. The TOEFL Primary is an advantage for students who plan to study or enter higher education abroad in the future, as they will be more familiar with taking the TOEFL Primary from the beginning of their studies. At Harmony, even six-year-olds take the TOEFL Primary from Step 1, which is equivalent to Level 3 of the English Proficiency Test. Results for six-year-olds have reached the A2 level of the CEFR, the global standard. The CEFR is a global standardised index that uses the same criteria to assess the operational ability and proficiency in a foreign language. Unfortunately, although Japan is diversifying its English language learning, the level of English around the world continues to decline. On this day, teachers, parents, and community members share their specialties, special experiences, and what they do in their jobs. For this Knack Day, under the theme of the importance of life, one of the parents who is a dog trainer taught the children about the characteristics of dogs, how to communicate with dogs, dog training, and other topics. At Harmony, we tell children that animals and humans exist in harmony, sharing the earth and helping each other, and that animals are not for humans to control, but to live by giving, receiving, and supporting each other.
